Two of my photos were chosen for the Snapfish Best of Blogs 2011 book. I was thrilled when I got the email earlier this week and I thought I’d share my two photos that were chosen.

Interestingly, the latter was one of the five photos I chose to place on the back of my business cards for BlogHer ’11 this year. How perfect! I’m deeply pleased with that little coincidence.

I asked my contact at Snapfish if I could share this news with my readers and was told yes. I was told that I should also inform my readers who may be attending BlogHer ’11 to come to a BOOK SIGNING (shut UP!) on Saturday (time yet to be announced) at the Snapfish Creation Station in Booth #332 in the Expo Hall at the San Diego Convention Center. WOO! You know you want to! I know at least one other amazing photographer who will also be in the book, so you should come and watch me sign my name. Poorly. Because my hand-writing is atrocious. Oh yeah.

I provided some of the official photography for the Type-A Parent Conference. All photos can be viewed on flickr. These are just four of my nearly 500 favorites — because they were all favorites!

I almost blew off of a ladder to stay far enough away from this nest but still get a shot of the eggs. My mother-in-law held me in place. I’m sure we looked hilarious.

I came across these in the wild while geocaching with my husband.

Blooms at my mother-in-law’s house again.

Magnolias = spring for me. They remind me of The Farm and my grandmother.

The theme this week for Beth’s You Capture was, obviously, Spring. I enjoyed challenging myself to get out a few times last week and this weekend to take these photos. It’s really been beautiful — until the past two days! Next week’s theme is pink — which makes me think of more magnolias, my apple tree which should be in bloom on my birthday and the Munchkin whom I’ll be seeing! Hooray!

Why is it snowing? It’s spring now. Someone inform the weather.

I didn’t make it out of my own yard with the camera this week due to a very hectic schedule. Such is life sometimes.

Capturing this was a special moment for me — for many reasons.

I liked the brightness of this particular photo. But I loved the bokeh in this one…

And I love photos on my fence…

And this one is indoors but the bright contrast and light made me happy…

I had fun with this challenge. And, yes, I sacrificed those four mini-cuppies for this challenge. (I don’t like sweets much. So I have no problem throwing them in the dirt.)

This is the Historic Mellon Bank building. I loved the repeating pattern in the foreground and background.

But I had two other photos that I loved as well.

This crazy wonderful wallpaper is in the Omni William Penn hotel, our favorite Pittsburgh hotel.

We were doing some geocaching and I looked up to my right and saw this amazing repeated pattern behind the church. Love it.

Pittsburgh always inspires me. To boot, I’m heading back today — but in the rain. And with a kid.

So much potential in this photo; the snow still dotting the ground, the sun shining, the tree looking very half-winter and half-summer. Spring is near. Spring is near.

This week was a fun challenge — body parts. I had some great pictures, but chose the following two for different reasons.

My youngest son was digging in the dirt yesterday. With his hands. So he showed me. I laughed. I later cringed when I had to remove the mud caked under his nails. I am glad I captured this photo so I can remember the day… forever.

My oldest son had a moment outside of quiet. I captured his beautiful eyelashes. This was one of those photos that, as I looked at it in the camera, I thought I would toss it. Not so. It’s a new favorite. He rarely looks so peaceful. Again, I am so happy I captured this one.

I enjoyed this challenge, even though I didn’t use half of the photos I took. Don’t forget to check out the linky on Beth’s post for more You Capture photos!

Next week’s challenge is “Emotion in Black and White.” Of course, the above black and white photo would have been perfect. Hopefully I come up with something moving for next week. My husband and I are going away this week for our annual St. Patrick’s Day weekend Getaway. Maybe I can find some emotion in the crowd!
